Well, I had almost given up on the whole blog thing. Every time I thought about it it seemed like too much to try to do. But then I was singled out by Bridget, so here you go.

Last night The Stoners won at trivia; we've been getting 2nd every week this semester, and finally busted through to first. It was quite a proud moment.

When Aaron and I drove through the blizzard back to our house I busted out my camera and romped around in the snow at midnight taking pictures. This one isn't mine, but I had to put something up to accurately convey how much snow we've been getting. I thought winter had skipped us! Last Sunday I was out walking Vito in sunny 50 degree weather, and spied some little green shoots coming out of the ground. Poor confused things! Later the same day it started snowing, and has snowed 11 inches since Sunday. It's wonderful! We're hitting the slopes tonight, if I can manage to dig my car out.

And in other news, we got one of the lake cores out today and took our first samples from it. So my thesis is really, truly *finally* beginning.

Okay, now for Bridget's challenge. 5 things people don't know about me, though I don't think I'm going to tag anyone.

1. I sometimes fantasize about making my students do pushups. I think this is the residual military in me.

2. I used to think I wanted to join a sorority. Lukily, my undergrad institution didn't have one, so I never did. Now that I am finally at a school that has a "greek" scene, I am so thankful I didn't fall into that trap. I'm not sure I would have escaped it alive.

3. I think I may have become a 2 cup a day coffee drinker. It took me years to tone down the addiction that started when I worked at Starbucks, and I've been down to just one cup a day for years. Now, only a few months into grad school, and I'm starting to slip.

4. I like it when Aaron has to go to work before me so I can hog the entire bed.

5. I like spying on people's conversations and taking their picture when they don't know it.
